welcome...be patient with me

Hi hello and welcome to what promises to be a blog all about myself! 

I'm Millie and here's a little bit about me:

- I'm currently in my final year doing English at Oxford 
- I'm 20 and live in London 
- I buy into astrology way too much
- My shopping mantra is typically 'If it's not black, take it back'
- I cry at adverts more than I'd like to admit 

I started this blog because I feel that I need a space to be able to explore random trains of thought and share that with whoever might want to listen. Most importantly, I want a chance to be able to develop and fine-tune my 'written voice', whatever that may end up being. As an English Literature student, I think I've always found (or been told) that there is a way of writing that is correct, but not something that I can necessarily find myself fitting into. Additionally, I've always found the concept of finding your own authorial voice quite a daunting task, given how saturated the blogger-sphere is. If this can be a space for self-exploration and experimentation, then I'm on my way to achieving what I came here to do.

There are some incredible women blogging at the moment in a way that is transforming how reader and writer interact, bringing them closer together. I've been hugely inspired by bloggers/writers like Chloe Plumstead (http://thelittleplum.co.uk), Amy Spencer (http://www.thelittlemagpie.com/) and Samantha Maria (https://www.samanthamariaofficial.com), who are all bringing such a wonderful fresh take on what blogging should and can be. I can only hope to emulate and build upon what these ladies are doing!

This is going to be a journey of finding my own writing voice, having a little fun on the way, and hopefully sharing it with you.
